Robert "Bob" Anthony

Robert "Bob" Anthony, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and esteemed business owner, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025, at the age of 87. He was born on November 28, 1937, in New York City, NY, and spent his later years residing in Pine Brook, NJ.

A distinguished Scholar of the Bronx High School of Science, Robert went on to earn his Bachelor's Degree from the City College of New York (CCNY). He began his career as a Certified Public Accountant at Standard Brands before pursuing his lifelong passion for animals by establishing The Pet Place, a beloved local business that he operated for 38 years.

Robert was a proud veteran of the Army National Guard and took great pride in serving his country. He was also a devoted family man, cherishing his late wife Sylvia Anthony, with whom he shared 49 years of marriage.

Robert is survived by his son, Al Anthony and his wife Lori; his daughter, Therese Anthony Lynch and her husband Dennis; and his beloved grandchildren: Luke, Aidan, Sam, Jude, Joe, Nico, and Bella. Pre-deceased by his brother, Donald Anthony.

A man of many passions, Robert was an avid New York sports fan, a movie aficionado, and a music & animal lover. His adventurous spirit led him to explore new places and cultures, creating cherished memories with his family along the way.

Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 25th, 2025 at 10:00am in St. Philomena Roman Catholic Church, Livingston NJ. Entombment, to follow, at Gate of Heaven Cemetery & Mausoleum, East Hanover, NJ..

Robert "Bob" Anthony will be profoundly missed by all who knew him, remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his dedication to his work, and his compassionate heart for all living beings.
