Robert Joseph Ober

Robert Joseph Ober, 88, of Fairfield, New Jersey passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024. Beloved husband of Myrtle (nee Hess) Ober. Loving father of Robert J. Ober, Jr. & his wife Joyce and Irene Shanahan. Cherished grandfather of Michelle, Robert III, Kimberly, Jason, Donnie & Jenny. Adored great-grandfather of 13. Brother of the late Henry Ober. Mr. Ober was in the US Army National Guard for 8 years. He was the Owner/Operator of Ober's Service Station in Fairfield for 73 years. He served his community on the Fairfield Volunteer Fire Department for 31 years before becoming a past-active exempt member.  Bob was a true fisherman who traveled to many states to fly-fish and was an active member of the Fairfield Conservation and Sportsman Association for many years. Funeral Tuesday at 10:30AM at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 7 Two Bridges Road, Fairfield. Interment Restland Memorial Park. Friends will be received Monday 4 - 8PM.
