It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert David Kenny, 73, who passed away May 30, 2026. A lifelong resident of Edgewater, he loved spending time with family and friends and never met a stranger he didn't like.
Known for his warm personality and outgoing nature, he had a gift for making people feel welcome wherever he went. He enjoyed singing, listening to his favorite artist, Bob Dylan, visiting the racetrack to watch the horses, and reminiscing with his lifelong friends from Boy Scout Troop 84, with whom he shared countless memories from childhood.
Later in life, he discovered a passion for drawing and found great joy in expressing his creativity through art. Full of life and always ready to have a good time, he was often the first person on the dance floor, bringing laughter, energy, and warmth to every gathering. His kind heart, vibrant spirit, and love for those around him will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving sister, Barbara Hoinash, and was preceded in death by his brother, John Kenny. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who loved and adored him and will cherish the memories they shared. Throughout his life, he was blessed with many dear friends and loved ones who became family, and whose lives were enriched by his kindness, humor, and generous spirit.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 4th, 2026 from 10:30am - 12:30pm in Hunt-Stellato Funeral Home, Fort Lee. Entombment, to follow, at Madonna Cemetery & Mausoleum, Fort Lee. Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate Robert's life and to pay their final respects.
In Lieu of flowers, kindly consider making a donation to the Edgewater Fire Department or to the Borough of Edgewater for a tree be placed in Robert's name at the Edgewater Ball field.
May he rest in peace, and may his memory be a blessing to all who knew him.
Quote by Bob Dylan:
Yes, and how many times must a man look up
Before he can see the sky?
Yes, and how many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry?
Yes, and how many deaths will it take 'til he knows
That too many people have died?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind
The answer is blowin' in the wind
