It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Roberta Marcelle Pocius, who departed this life on July 27, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on May 16, 1949, in Newark, New Jersey, Roberta dedicated her life to education, inspiring countless students through her role as a teacher at St. Michael the Archangel R.C. Church in Lyndhurst NJ, as well as a longstanding director of the Angel Academy.
Roberta was a proud graduate of Caldwell College and devoted her career to nurturing the minds of young learners. Her unwavering commitment to education and her genuine care for her students left an indelible mark on the community in Lyndhurst, New Jersey, where she resided.
Roberta was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Anthony Thomas Pocius; and brother, James Drzymkowski.
She is survived by her beloved son, Jonathan M. Pocius, and daughter-in-law, Adriana Pocius. She cherished her granddaughter, Audrey Ella Pocius, who brought immense joy to her life. Roberta is also survived by her devoted brother, John Drzymkowski, and her loving sister, Michelle Latko.
Roberta's legacy will endure in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her, as well as in the lives she touched through her teaching.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31st, 2025 from 4:00pm-8:00pm in Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, Lyndhurst NJ. Mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 1st, 2025 at 10:00am in St. Michael the Archangel Church, Lyndhurst. Interment, to follow, Holy Cross Cemetery & Mausoleum, North Arlington NJ.
In this time of loss, the family appreciates the support, prayers, and fond memories shared by friends and loved ones. Roberta will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered. May she rest in peace.
