It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald Bassano, who passed away on Friday , February 27, 2026, at the age of 90. Born in Teaneck, NJ on October 31, 1935 Ronnie brought warmth, love, and an unforgettable spirit to all who knew him. He was cherished by his family and will be deeply missed.
Ronald was a loving husband, son, brother, cousin and uncle. He is survived by his wife Luisa. He is predeceased by his father James Bassano, mother Marjorie Amelia Failing, and brothers Jimmy and Bobby.
In 1959, Ronnie proudly founded Bassano Painting & Design, a business he built through hard work, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to quality. Over the years, his company earned a strong reputation throughout Bergen County for its craftsmanship and reliability. He took great pride in his work, bringing new life and beauty to countless commercial buildings, homes, and restaurants, including Chelsea Piers. More than just a business owner, he was someone who truly cared about his work leaving a lasting mark on the community he served.
Ronnie was known for being the life of the party, always ready to celebrate and enjoy the moment. You could often find him out on the dance floor, dancing with a big smile and encouraging everyone else to join in. He also loved trips in his Cadillac to the casino, where he especially enjoyed playing craps and sharing the excitement with friends and family. His fun-loving spirit and ability to make people laugh will always be remembered by those who knew him.
In this time of sorrow, we invite everyone who knew Ronald to join us in remembering his remarkable life and the cherished moments we shared with him. He will forever remain in our hearts.
