Rose Mary Robertson

With a heart full of love and a spirit of unwavering commitment to family and community, Rose Mary Robertson, age 92, of Lyndhurst, NJ, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026. Born in Jersey City, NJ, to loving parents, John & Christina Scerbo, Rose Mary was a vibrant soul who embraced life and all it had to offer.

A proud graduate of St. Dominic Academy in Jersey City, Class of 1950, Rose Mary embarked on a fulfilling career as a secretary. However, her most cherished role was that of a dedicated mother to her two daughters, Kristie and Robyn. Once her children grew older, she returned to her career, serving nearly 30 years as the Sales Secretary at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum for the Archdiocese of Newark Catholic Cemeteries until her retirement in 2003.

Rose Mary's life was marked by her passionate spirit of volunteerism. An early advocate for her community, she dedicated time as a Candy Striper in her youth. Later, she became an active and beloved member of Mount Carmel Rosary Society, using her talents to raise funds through many events including feast and tricky trays. A proud American, she enjoyed her time working at the polls during elections, embodying civic duty and community service. Her generous heart led her to join the Loops for Love initiative, where she lovingly crocheted blankets and hats for newborns in need.

Family was at the center of Rose Mary's world. Beloved wife of the late John Robertson. Loving mother of Kristie & her husband Michael Soriano and Robyn & her husband Fred Kleinhenz. She was the proud grandmother of Nicholas and his wife Alyssa, Michael and his wife Natalie, Matthew and his wife Sydney, Jonathan, and Kristyn. Her legacy of love continues with her adored great-grandchildren, Dominic, Charlie, Jack, Abigail, and Lucy. Dear sister of Frank Scerbo.

A celebration of Rose Mary's remarkable life will be held as follows:
Visitation Tuesday, January 20, 4-8PM at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Rd., Lyndhurst. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church on Wednesday, January 21, at 10:00 AM. Entombment Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum.

In honoring her legacy, we celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, and kindness-a life well-lived. Rose Mary will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her spirit continue to shine brightly in our hearts.
