Ruth Lombardi (nee Franz), born on April 27, 1928, in Newark, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2025, in Pompton Plains, New Jersey. She was 97 years old.

Ruth’s long and full life spanned nearly a century of change and growth. Born and raised in Newark, she witnessed the evolution of her community and the world around her with grace and resilience. Throughout her life, Ruth remained deeply rooted in New Jersey, where she built her home and family. She moved to Wayne, NJ in 1970 and later after retirement moved to Montville, NJ. Wherever she lived she was always active in her church. Ruth was a devout Christian and her faith was a cornerstone of her life. Her faith guided her through life's challenges and inspired those around her. Her life was a testament to the power of faith, the warmth of family and selfless service.

Ruth had a long, rewarding and successful career at Hoffman LaRoche retiring in 1994.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Pat Lombardi; her son, Edward Giordano; and her step-daughter, Karen Milano. Their memories remained close to Ruth’s heart throughout the years.

Ruth is lovingly remembered by her daughter Ruth Giordano and her partner Fred Steinberg; her grandson David Jenkins and his wife Marissa; and her cherished great-granddaughters Lily and Scarlett. Her legacy lives on through them and the many lives she touched over the years.
