Salvatrice Ann Pistilli (nee Messineo) of Hackensack, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 26, 2025, at the age of 93 years.

Sally received an A.A. in Journalism, a B.A. in English and a M.A. in Learning Disabilities from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She dedicated her life to the field of education, as a Learning Disabilities Teacher-Consultant with the Westwood Regional School District. Her commitment to her students and their families has left an indelible mark on the community.

Sally is survived by her cherished daughters, Rosanne Mari and her husband Peter Mari, Michele Pistilli, her beloved grandson Peter Joseph Mari, and her dear sister Angela Messineo.

Reflecting on her life, we remember Sally not only for her professional accomplishments but for her love of music. She touched the lives of many by volunteering her time playing the piano for various local medical facilities. She believed that music was the universal tongue and a form of healing. Sally was a loving, smart, talented woman who believed you should enjoy every day.
