It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Susan J. Janitz, who left us on November 10, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on March 20, 1952, in Lyndhurst, NJ to Arthur Sr. & Eris (nee Rodemer) Jacobs, Susan was a devoted mother, grandmother, and sister who touched the lives of all who knew her.
Susan began her professional journey working in Accounts Payable at various trucking companies. Following the untimely passing of her husband, she bravely took on the role of sole provider for her family, raising her two children, Pamela and Christopher, with love and resilience. Later in life, after retiring, she cherished the opportunity to care for her beloved grandson, Paul, with a selfless dedication that defined her character.
Susan is survived by her daughter Pamela & her husband Edward Gonzalez, her son Christopher & his wife Jacqueline Janitz, sister Lorraine Giaconia & her husband Richard, and her cherished grandson Paul R. Janitz. Her legacy of love, strength, and unwavering support will forever be remembered and celebrated by her family and friends. She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Paul Janitz, and her brother, Arthur Jacobs Jr.
Friends & family will be recieved Sunday 1-5 PM. Funeral Monday 9 AM from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst. Funeral mass 10 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church. Cremation is private.
In these moments of reflection, we remember Susan not only for her nurturing spirit and fierce love for her family but also for her strength in the face of challenges. Her memory will live on in our hearts, a poignant reminder of the love that binds us together.
