It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Terry Lofrano who departed this life peacefully on April 5, 2026 at the age of 89. Born on September 17, 1936 in Jersey City, New Jersey, Terry, affectionately known as “Dolly,” spent her life surrounded by cherished family and friends. She was loved by everyone who knew her. 

Terry began her career with the New York Telephone Company before making the selfless decision to leave her position to devote herself to motherhood - a role she embraced wholeheartedly and treasured above all. She later returned to the workforce as a waitress at the Flamingo Diner in Jersey City. She went on to own and operate the Hutch in Lyndhurst, New Jersey during the late 1970s and early 1980s.Later in life, Terry worked tirelessly as a waitress at the Plaza Diner in Secaucus, New Jersey where she joyfully served her patrons for many years. Her kind spirit, warm smile, and genuine nature left a lasting impression on everyone she met.Terry found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed listening to music, dining out, drinking coffee, and spending time with family and friends. 

Terry was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Lofrano, and her sister, Mary Anne Klotz.Terry is survived by her loving son, Joseph Lofrano, and her beloved daughter, Toni Anne DeLeonardis together with her husband, Joe. She will be deeply missed by her precious grandchildren, Briel, Paige, and Joey; her niece, Sharon Lewis-Kish; as well as her great-nieces, Sheri Lewis, Shannon Kish-Greiss, and Mary Anne Kish. Additionally, she is survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins who will carry her memory in their hearts.

Visitation will be held at Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home on Monday, April 13, 2026 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church at 10:30 AM. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery & Mausoleum.In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Terry's honor which reflects her compassion and desire to support others.

Terry Lofrano will not only be remembered for her kindness but also for her soft-spoken, gentle nature. Her warmth, smile, and unwavering love for her family and friends will remain in the hearts and memories of all those whose lives she touched. May she rest in eternal peace.
