It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ubert "Bert" Madia on November 14, 2025, at the age of 87. Ubert was born on August 18, 1938, in Newark, New Jersey to Charles & Helen (nee Spagnardi) Madia. In April of 1973 he and his wife Roz built their dream home in Fairfield, New Jersey and resided there until moving in 2004 to Montville, New Jersey. In 2019, he retired and spent his later years residing in Toms River, New Jersey. He departed this life peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, after a life filled with purpose and connection.
Ubert proudly served his country in the United States Army from February 12, 1961, until his discharge on August 6, 1961, achieving the rank of Private E-2. As a medic, he dedicated himself to the well-being of others, a reflection of his compassionate heart that would continue to define his life.
For many years, Burt was an owner/operator tractor trailer driver with Watkins Trucking, and later was an owner/operator dump truck driver, after which he drove for A. Veniero & Sons until his retirement at 80 years old.
Ubert is predeceased by his beloved wife, Roslyn "Roz" Madia. He is lovingly remembered by his three daughters, Helena Bianchi, Sandra Riotto & her husband Joe, and Michele Valerani & her husband Andrew, who were blessed to call him Dad. Ubert was also cherished by his brothers, Charles and John Madia, who shared in the memories of their upbringing and the joy of family.
