Vincent James Plateroti, Sr., age 68, Little Falls resident for 44 years passed away on May 18, 2026. He was born on December 15, 1957 to Frank & Clara (nee Bonpietro) and spent his formative years in Elmwood Park, NJ.
Beloved husband of Teresa (nee Zaffina) Plateroti. Devoted father of Danielle & her husband Paul Scarpa, as well as Vincent Plateroti Jr. & his wife Alexa. Vincent took great pride in being a cherished "Papa" to his grandchildren Giuliana, Valentina, and Nina. He was an adored son-in-law of Maria and the late Felice Zaffina. Dear brother to Geary & his wife Doris and Frank Plateroti. He will also be missed by his sister-in-law, Carmela, and brother-in-law, Scott Wisse. Survived by many nieces & nephews as well as his faithful companion, his West Highland White Terrier, Daisy.
Vinny was an active parishioner at Our Lady of Holy Angels Church, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister, CCD teacher, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid sports fan, passionately supporting the NY Giants, Mets, and Rangers. He coached baseball and softball for the Little Falls Athletic Club, dedicating his time and energy to the youth of his community where he was affectionately know as "Coach Vinny". Vincent had a love for cooking, famously known for his "Soup Mondays," and cherished moments spent on the beach, particularly Long Beach Island, Jersey Shore and Aruba. Music was an important part of his life and the tunes of Bruce Springsteen and The Eagles helped him through many days behind the wheel.
Vinny began his career at Fort Lee Film and NBC before becoming a UPS package delivery driver. With over 25 years of service at the Saddle Brook hub, he was a proud member of Teamsters Union #177 until his retirement in 2012. From there he went on to work as a Special Needs Bus Driver for the Little Falls Board of Education, a position truly made for him. While he enjoyed driving the bus, he loved every child that stepped onto his bus for his 13 years in the district. He will truly be missed by all the lives he touched.
Visitation Friday 1-5PM at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 7 Two Bridges Rd., Fairifeld. Friends & Family will also be received Saturday 8:30-9:30 at the funeral home prior to the Funeral Mass Saturday 10AM at Our Lady of Holy Angels Church. Entombment Laurel Grove Cemetery Mausoleum.
Vincent leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and community service, and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
