William R. Schiess

William R Schiess, 72, resident of North Bergen, NJ passed away on Thursday, September 12th 2024. Predeceased by his older brother, Thomas C. Schiess. Loving brother to Patricia and husband Daniel. Loving father to Jessica, Jean & partner Leslie, Thomas, Timothy and Jennifer & husband Teddy. Beloved Poppy to Emma, Thomas, Tsampicos, Konstantina & Maria. Great-grandfather to Amelia Rose.

Billy was born and raised in Edgewater, NJ. He served honorably in the United States Army, and obtained the rank of specialist while in the field artillery unit. After leaving the U.S. Army, he became a professional firefighter, and spent his career as an EMT and firefighter for the town of Edgewater.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, Sept 26th from 4pm-8pm at Hunt Stellato Funeral Home, 1601 Palisade Ave, Fort Lee, NJ. Billy was very proud of his career as a firefighter, so we ask that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Edgewater Fire Department.
