Judith Burns Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Judith Burns (nee: Banasiak), age 78 born in Jersey City and a lifelong resident of Bayonne, NJ, passed away peacefully on January, 19 2022. Daughter of the late, Sophie (nee Kowalczyk) and Charles Banasiak, she attended Bayonne High School and enjoyed her activities as a twirler. Graduating in 1961, her after-school hours found her working in the Mademiselle's Dress Shop in Bayonne. Judith met the love of her life, Robert, and were married for 47 years. They both worked together in Lightolier in Jersey City. Judith also worked as a scanning coordinator in Shop Rite in Bayonne for 35 years, retiring in 2006. Judith found her artistic talent in oil painting; diamond art; knitting and crocheting. She enjoyed traveling, fishing, and spending days in Atlantic City. Together, Robert and Judith raised two sons, Christopher and Robert, Jr. and are survived by them and their wives Veronica and Barbara; her cherished grandchildren Joseph, Dominick, Christopher and Matthew; sister-in-law Diane Kelly; her friend of 73 years, Clare Konopka; and her many cousins. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Robert; brother Raymond and his wife Victoria; sister-in-law MaryAnn and her husband, Harry Knowlton; and brother-in-law, Michael Kelly. Funeral Wednesday 11AM from the Caiola- Stellato Funeral Home, 691 Avenue C, Bayonne. Funeral Mass 12PM parish of St. John Paul II at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Bayonne. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Friends will be received Tuesday 4-8PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to American Cancer Society, PO Box 22478, Oklahoma City OK 73123.
